Are You Overwhelmed By Linux?

We both know that Linux isn’t an easy beast to master, but you’re going to tame it anyway, dammit!

You probably have several reasons for wanting to conquer Linux:

  • You want to learn something new and become an expert.
  • The flexibility and raw power of Linux appeals to you.
  • The price is right (it’s free!).
  • You want to breathe fresh life into your aging computer.
  • You’re looking for increased stability and security.
  • The Linux philosophy inspires you.

Welcome to Down To Earth Linux!  We are going to simplify the learning process so you can crush your goals!

What Do I Do Now?

The first thing you want to do is join our inner circle.  Not only will you be the first to know of any awesome new content, but you’ll be eligible to receive other free resources, information, and updates.

We have a couple ways you can join our cult… er… club… I meant club.  The best and most important is to join our email… club.  Then you’ll want to like/follow/stalk us on social media.

Second, you’ll want to check out our getting started page.  It’s a great jumping off point for our site.  As you read, make sure to click through to other linked articles and comment on and share anything you like!

Who the Hell Are You?

My name is John Morris.  I’m the founder of Down To Earth Linux and am a passionate Linux enthusiast.  Unfortunately, I learned almost everything I know about Linux by screwing it up and having to fix it.

I don’t want you to have the same experience.  I nearly abandoned Linux several times before finally falling into its sweet embrace.  I feel a lot of potential Linux users, who aren’t as stubborn as I, are unnecessarily lost during this learning period.

And thus, I took my talent for teaching, writing, and website design, and started Down To Earth Linux in early 2014.

This is only a small fraction of the cool stuff I’m involved in.  If you want to learn more, you can check out my personal website, or contact me.

I hope this site is helpful for you.  If it is, speak up!  Use the comments, social media profiles, surveys, and contact forms to share your thoughts.  I’m listening.
